Through the Forest
Original painting done in 2016 with acrylic on 140lb water color paper. All of my original paintings on paper are matted and framed. This piece combines strong visual clarity, a contemporary color sensibility, and cross-over appeal between decorative and contemplative markets
Feldman Methodology:
Description: The branches are painted with a gestural, almost calligraphic line; color zones are flat but show painterly edges.
Analysis: The black branches create a strong foreground rhythm that both interrupts and organizes the color fields behind them.
Interpretation: The work reads as an intentional tension between nature’s chaotic line and human-made order (colorblocks). That tension can feel like a seasonal memory.
Judgment: The painting succeeds at what it sets out to do: it’s visually direct, strongly composed and stylistically confident.
